How we got here
We wanted family to be part of the everyday. So we built a home for three generations.
Nona lives in the ADU beside our house and helps homeschool our son in the mornings while I work. We trade roles in the afternoon. It took a lot of decisions to get here, and we’re still figuring parts of it out.
Your version may look completely different. I hope something here helps you see a choice you hadn’t considered, or gives you a little encouragement to try it.

Living together
We share the homeschooling and help each other through the week. Living close also works because we each have a front door we can close.

Sometimes we find the answer in a book. Sometimes we head to a museum or try a project. We’re paying attention to what keeps our son curious.
Ordinary adventure
A museum visit or a walk nearby can be enough. We’re often tired or tempted to stay home, too. Starting small helps.
